La Psicología ha tomado el concepto de la simbiosis para aludir el tipo de relación que se establece entre individuos que han entablado un vínculo de co-dependencia.
Un tipo de simbiosis necesaria y natural para la supervivencia de los seres humanos es la que entablan madre e hijo durante los primeros meses de vida del bebé.
