La mariposa nocturna lleva sobre sus alas, el aire de mal augurio.

En Mesoamérica, de donde es originaria, se le conoce como la mariposa del país de los muertos, o simplemente, la mariposa de la muerte, o, de la mala suerte, pues se
decía, que su presencia, simplemente, era el anuncio de la muerte. 

Se le conoce también, como la mariposa del “Dinero”. 

En el Perú, por ejemplo, a la mariposa nocturna se le conoce como “Taparaco”. 

En tiempos de los incas, el Taparaco, simbolizaba el tránsito a un tiempo difícil y oscuro. 

También el Tarapaco significaba lo inquieto, rebeldía y subversión. 

Significa también, la ligereza que
bordea con la inmoralidad, y la
ilegalidad (Diccionario Esotérico)

Estas expresiones son simbólicas
